First you have to write out the problem in equation form. Once you have did that you can set the equation equal. A good idea for setting this type of equation equal is to distribute. Now the problem will become more simple now all you have to do is isolate one of the variables because in this case there are two variables. Once one varaible is isolated you just solve and then plug in the answer you get in the second equation and solve.
1st equation- 4s+3b = 4.36
2nd equation- 8s+1b = 3.32
Plugging in the 2Nd equation.......
-3(8s+1b) = 3.32(-3)
-24 + 3b = -9.96
+ 4s + 3b = 4.36
_____________________
-20s = -5.6
___ ____
-20 -20
s= 0.28 / 1 can of soup = $0.28
Plug in the 1st equation
4(0.28)+ 3b = 4.36
1.12 + 3b = 4.36
-1.12 -1.12
____________________
3b = 3.24
___ _____
3 3
b = 1.08 / 1loaf of bread =1.0

Explain why you set the equations equal to each other. Explain why you would distribute, and how you would distribute. Also, fix some grammatical/spelling errors, and you're set.
